Connect your device
Use the cable supplied with your Trezor to connect it directly to your computer or phone. Open Suite and follow the on-screen prompts to install the latest device firmware.

Choose to create a new wallet if this is your first Trezor. Your device will generate a recovery seed: the offline backup that can restore access if your device is lost or damaged.
Understand recovery seeds ↗Write down your backup
Record each word in its exact order on the recovery card, away from cameras and other people. Store it somewhere private and secure. Trezor will ask you to confirm the backup on the device.
Back up your wallet ↗Set a PIN and get started
Choose a PIN on your Trezor to protect physical access to the device. Once setup is complete, you can add accounts in Suite and receive crypto. Always verify addresses on your device screen before confirming.

It is the master backup to your wallet. Anyone who sees it can access your crypto. Trezor Support will never ask you to share it—not by email, chat, phone, or website. Only enter it directly on your Trezor device when the device itself instructs you.
Before you begin, find a calm, private place and allow enough time to finish setup without rushing. Check that you are using genuine Trezor Suite from the official Trezor website, and keep your device firmware current through Suite. Never trust unsolicited messages promising help, urgent security fixes, or a way to validate your wallet. If a message asks for your recovery words, stop: it is a scam. Confirm important actions and receiving addresses on the Trezor screen itself, not only on your computer. Your device is designed to keep private keys protected while you approve transactions; staying alert to these simple habits is part of keeping your wallet safe.
